I would like to know if, for a coach like me, from Spain, it would be hard to find a coaching position there in USA or anywhere else. I don't care about the level, High School, Mid School, College... And I'd like to know how and where to apply, cause I really don't know anything about how or who to call or mail to apply for a coaching position out of Spain. Thanks for your…See More

Short Bio
Started playing at 5yo at my hometown Talavera de la Reina (an hour far from Madrid, heading southwest). Played for my school there until 14yo, becoming Regional Champs (u12 category and U14 category) and getting into the Nationals. Went to live to Madrid playing for Estudiantes U16 team playing the Nationals. Played for San Fernando (EBA league, National 3rd division in 2002-2003), and after that played amateur regional leagues in Madrid. Started coaching 12 years ago. Been coaching at Estudiantes, Madrid, (now I'm coaching the 11yo kids in English), and Arroyomolinos U10 (they dont compete), U12 (no losses this season, Madrid Regional Champs) and U16 (went up from Regional 3rd to Regional 2nd). Seson 10/11, coached a 1st national league girls team at a Madrid Club called Joyfe, and a U18 team at Estudiantes. National Coach level title from the Spanish Basketball Federation.

Hi Fernando, I would like to get into the coach business. Let everyone at (Estudiantes) know that I am very grateful to have played for the great basketball club and my family say thanks! All the best!

Hey, Glen!! It's youuu!!!! Hahaha!!! When you were playing for us (Estudiantes) I was 17yo and I always attended to the Demencia sector at Palacio de Deportes. Now I'm coaching there, I'm 32yo and also I'm managing a basketball school at a town close to Madrid called Arroyomolinos. Let me tell you that, if you ever come back here you'll be always welcome to the house that will be your house whenever you need it... Angel Goñi and other coaches and managers from the club told me to tell you "HEY!!! Good to hear from you again!!!" so there you have it, heheh... Where are you coaching?

Keep in contact.

Regards,

Fernando.
