Christopher Corbett replied to Hoop Coach's discussion Dealing with Long Bus Rides
"I will ask my old college team at the University of Maine at Fort Kent.  They most likely have some of the longest rides in the country.  On my team we had issues with it and tried to often arrive the night before.  Their current van…"

Coach V commented on Hoop Coach's page Two on One Trapping Drill
"Do you call five second closely guarded dead ball violations?  i.e. do you force the offensive player to create space to take the five second rule off or do you overlook that because it is two against one?"

"We try to arrive as early as possible, make all the players walk around for alittle while...no just sitting down and waiting longer. NO CELL phone games or texting at this point, to get their minds on the game at hand. If possible get onto the court…"

Joel Simonds replied to Hoop Coach's discussion How long do you practice?
"We shorten practices as the season wears on. Go 2-2.5 hrs early and by the last couple weeks we are down to 1hr 15min or 1hr 30 min. I believe in adding things to what we do as the season goes, especially as we get in league. I know everyone has…"

Michael Ortega replied to Hoop Coach's discussion How long do you practice?
"I like to practice 90-120 minutes.  2 hour practices are the norm at the beginning of the season. Later in the season, especially during a stretch when there are a lot of game,  shortened practices , or less running to keep legs fresh is…"

Al Samsa replied to Hoop Coach's discussion How long do you practice?
"The reality in club ball is we go for the length the parents pay for. One two hour and one 1.5 hour practice per week. I happen to be a high school teacher and the players can come in early for one of the practices as it's at my school. We…"

Joseph Gagner replied to Hoop Coach's discussion Improving Game Free Throw Percentage

Demetris Prewitt replied to Hoop Coach's discussion Improving Game Free Throw Percentage
"Penalties and rewards also work to add pressure. If your goal is to shoot 90, have FT sessions where a missed FT is worth 9 (insert exercise rep) and a make FT takes away 1 rep. They must shoot at least 90 to break even. If they happen do better,…"
