Anybody have or use "code words" for running an in-game play to the right or to the left?

I have a 1-4 high set that particular set plays can be run out of and they can be run to the right or to the left and I want to make sure we vary so defenses don't catch on quickly.Let's just say the…Continue

We play a lot of 2-3 zone and have our rotations down pretty pat about how we want to defend the high post, prevent the high post from screening our guards, defending wing-wing and wing-corner skip…Continue

55 Second and Chair Dribbling Drills

"What is the theory behind wearing the garden gloves? What is the theory behind the six chair dribbling drill where you take a couple of the dribbles then have to dribble over top the chair, then repeat for each chair?  Is it that the dribble…"

Saturday Morning Youth Basketball Programs During The Season

How do you guys manage these in the winter?  Our area has youth basketball leagues during the week run by volunteer youth coaches, but nothing on Saturdays like I was use to and I know our competitors have.  I was thinking of a six or eight program lead by me (Assistant Varsity Boys Coach) and rotate in two Varsity players each week as counselors.  1+ hours for grades 3-4 and 1+ hours for grades 5-6.  Not sure how to work in grades 1-2 or if I can.  Do you guys typically charge a fee for this? …See More

I have a 1-4 high set that particular set plays can be run out of and they can be run to the right or to the left and I want to make sure we vary so defenses don't catch on quickly.Let's just say the play is called "14".  All I got is "14 Rick" and "14 Lucy".  There's got to be something better.See More

Mark Kaplan replied to Coach V's discussion Defending corner to corner skip pass against 2-3 zone
"Interesting!  I never allow skip passes at the Youth level, because it's such high risk.  But it might work from the strong side wing, as weak side wing sets the outside pick at the block, and the weakside corner will be…"

Rob Viramontes replied to Coach V's discussion Defending corner to corner skip pass against 2-3 zone

No Longer Coaching replied to Coach V's discussion Defending corner to corner skip pass against 2-3 zone
