"The Menace IS Society"

Hello my STARZ, life is good isn’t it??  If you don’t see it that way, we need to figure out why.  Life’s a game of crests and troughs; you just need to learn how to surf!  Ok, enough Zen for today!  On to the next one.  Keeping with the themes that influenced my childhood, I decided to name this blog “The Menace IS Society,” in a play of words from one of my favorite movies ever!!  Sit back and enjoy!

So often, we talk negatively about this generation of kids.  I am guilty too, we…

Locked Out...

Well, well, well!! I know… it’s been FOREVER since you’ve heard from me on a blog post! Good news… I'm back on it!! My new blog entries will be much more frequent and much shorter in length. The objects for these posts are to stimulate some conversation, (even debate) about things that are on my mind. I NEED FEEDBACK; I CRAVE TO HEAR YOUR OPINIONS ABOUT THE TOPICS. Please pass on the links to your friends and their friends so I can have as many…

Happy 2011 my people! It has been told to me that a biblical meaning for the number eleven is extra measure. Let’s make sure whatever extra blessings we occur this year are given back to others as an extra measure from you! The New Year is always a time when people make resolutions and plans for things they would like to change. It is not only my resolution, but my passion, to contribute in whatever ways possible to educate, develop, and inspire young people all over… Continue

Mo' Money, Mo' Problems...

My people, what’s happening? I trust everyone had a spectacular Holiday and I’m sure many of you are still enjoying much deserved vacation time. Thank you to all of you that called, wrote, or even thought happy birthday to me. Next is Angel’s on New Year’s Eve. Then we are done with our Holiday Hanukah as I like to call it. Anyway, during this time off I want you to also enjoy my last post of the year. Though it was not planned this way, I… Continue

Hi Jay,

I’m Joe and I noticed your playing & coaching background and wanted to talk to you about your experience! I actually run a service in the Atlanta area that connects local youths with ex-college/pro basketball players for private lessons and was wondering if you would be interested in the opportunity. It’s a premium service which allows us to compensate our coaches very well and it’s a great way to give back to the community.

If not, could you help me connect with basketball players in the Atlanta area who played in college/professionally?
Hope to hear back from you, thanks!

How do you like it overseas? I am looking into maybe doing an internship overseas but don't know how much I would like it. I'm sure it would be a great experience though.
