Overtime Victory!

Overtime Victory!

I am the only one left in the arena right now. It’s about 1 a.m. and I am waiting for laundry to get done. I think today is a perfect day to talk about what a Graduate Assistant position is like.

I woke up at about 8 am today in order to get to work a little earlier than usual. I knew that today would be a long, stressful today. Tomorrow our team is going to Detroit, Michigan to play in the… Continue

Basketball and School

Basketball and School

I just got home from an intramural game. The football graduate assistant started up a team, and invited me to play, and I couldn’t have been more excited. I hadn’t played in an actual 5 on 5 game since the summer, and I have been itching to play ever since I got here. I think once you are a player, you never lose that urge to play, no matter how old. Perhaps you lose the desire to play against top notch caliber players,… Continue

A Day To Forget

I was driving to the grocery store today to get some things and I heard something interesting on the radio. They were saying that today is the most depressing day of the year. It was a combination of Christmas having just passed, people starting work again, and it being Monday. Interesting analysis I suppose. I wasn't depressed. It was just another day to me. Like I always say, all days seem to blend in. It's basketball season. We got practice everyday, and two…

Jump. To. The. Ball

Jump. To. The. Ball.

It is midnight right now. If you couldn’t tell, I kind of enjoy writing these posts after games, late at night when something is on my mind and I don’t care about going to sleep. Let me warn you ahead of time this blog post is a bit jumpy as far as the topics go, but hey, aren’t most of mine? I’m sure you’re getting used to it by now.

As usual, let me update you with where our team is and how we are doing. We had… Continue

Happy 2011 my people! It has been told to me that a biblical meaning for the number eleven is extra measure. Let’s make sure whatever extra blessings we occur this year are given back to others as an extra measure from you! The New Year is always a time when people make resolutions and plans for things they would like to change. It is not only my resolution, but my passion, to contribute in whatever ways possible to educate, develop, and inspire young people all over… Continue

Mo' Money, Mo' Problems...

Mo' Money, Mo' Problems...

My people, what’s happening? I trust everyone had a spectacular Holiday and I’m sure many of you are still enjoying much deserved vacation time. Thank you to all of you that called, wrote, or even thought happy birthday to me. Next is Angel’s on New Year’s Eve. Then we are done with our Holiday Hanukah as I like to call it. Anyway, during this time off I want you to also enjoy my last post of the year. Though it was not planned this way, I… Continue

"Come play for us young man"

“Come play for us young man”

It’s been snowing here all day long. This is the first time in my life that I’ve seen so much snow, and I finally see what I’ve been hearing about this whole time about snow in Nebraska. It’s Sunday right now, and this is the first time I’ve actually gotten to just lay back and relax since I’ve been back from break. I’ve done nothing but watched college and NBA games today. Sometimes you just need a break from it all,… Continue

Lots of driving, Little sleep

Lots of Driving, Little Sleep

It is 3 a.m. right now, and I just got home from driving for 3 and a half hours for an away game. Over the past 5 days I’ve driven approximately 21 hours, and somewhere around 1200 miles. We had a game earlier today to conclude a 3 games in 4 nights stretch, and overall it was pretty tiring, to say the least.

The team is now 10-4 overall, and 4-2 in conference. Our most recent game was a ten point loss… Continue

If your job depended on it....

Would you jeopardize your ethics to land a top
recruit? How far would you go? Would you inform the recruit if you where
leaving your current job for another?

How important are morals when recruiting?
