Mike Jarvis to get four-year deal to coach Florida Atlantic :: ESPN Report

I wonder what they could pay this guy. He probably made nice money in the Big East while at St. John's. I have to believe Florida Atlantic might have a hard time matching that. Then again, if he is anything like me, he would do the job for t-shirts and a real nice sweat suit.

IUPUI coach Hunter and Samaritan's Feet

What an awesome story. So much more appealing then reading about a crooked agent tossing money to players or a coach that would taint the memory of a deceased player to save his own neck. Well done, Coach Hunter.

Bucknell hires Dave Paulsen from D III Williams

Could this guy be another Bo Ryan? I love these D3 coaches that make the jump to D1. They give high school coaches like myself hope in climbing the ranks.

UNLV Athletic Department and Coach Salaries

Mike Hamrick

Position: Director of athletics

Salary: $255,000

Comment: Most people’s idea of a good athletic director is someone raising money, not making it.

Mike Sanford

Position: Head football coach

Salary: $150,000

Comment: Remember, it’s his offense — not Urban Meyer’s. Meyer won the national championship with Sanford’s offense. Sanford is 6-29.

Ex-Baylor Assitant Abar Rouse Article

Interesting article on about the ex-Baylor assitant, Abar Rouse, who recorded conversations with ex-head coach Dave Bliss pertaining to the death of player Patrick Dennehy. Rouse had only been on the job for about 3 months after making the jump from JUCO to Division I. It's crazy how a coach can go from a big time gig in the Big 12 to a blackballed coach forced to take Graduate Assistant jobs… Continue

Life as a Basketball Player Overseas

Interesting article on following Trajan Langdon, the ex-Duke star, through his Euroleague championship run with his team Real Madrid. Tough call. Is it better to be a star in the Euroleague or a reserve in the NBA? Living in Spain sounds pretty cool to me and it has to be better than Langdon's old stomping ground in Alaska.
