These 3 plays use the 3 out 2 in set up. The first is UK Wildcat 2. The 1 dribbles to the right wing and hands the ball of to the 2. The 5 cuts to the top and receives a pass as the 4 sets a screen for the 1. The 1 cuts under the hoop and can get a pass, or he can finish the cut to the left corner. Then the 4 sets a pick for the 2 and rolls off it, cutting to the basket. The 5 can pass it to him for an inside basket or to the 2 on the right wing for a shot.
The next play is called Longhorn. The 1 dribbles to the left wing and hands the ball of to the 3. Then the 5 cuts to the top to set a ball screen for the 3. The 3 tries to penetrate toward the right elbow where the 4 is. The 4 can set another screen for the 3 or cut down to the left block and get a pass for an inside shot.
The third play is called Spartan. The 1 dribbles left while the 4 cuts to the top, and gets the ball. Then the 1 cuts down and picks for the 5 to move over to the right block. Then the 3 runs from the left wing to the left block to pick for the 1 who moves out to the left wing. The 1 gets the ball from the 4, and the 5 picks for the 3 who moves to the right block. Then the 3 cuts to the top to set a screen for the 4 who runs to the hoop, and gets a pass for an open shot. These plays all have multiple options and don't have to end with a specific shot.
