Job Description
Responsibilities: The University of Michigan Athletic Department, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the Big Ten Conference, is accepting applications for the position of Head Women's Basketball Coach. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Coaching, recruitment and selection of qualified prospective student-athletes, supervising assistant coaches for the sport of women's basketball; support and monitoring of the academic progress of student-athletes, scheduling and conducting regular practice schedules; developing and implementing strategies for motivating student-athletes to perform at maximum levels; preparation and monitoring of a budget; completing all required NCAA documents and following NCAA Conference rules, and University of Michigan rules, regulations and policies; performing community relations with groups such as the media, fans, donors, and the general public.
Requirements
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university Collegiate coaching experience at the Division I level Thorough knowledge of the NCAA rules and regulations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to interact effectively with prospective and enrolled student-athletes Collaborate effectively with all athletic department team members, university administration, and the media. Successfully pass a background check.
Desired Qualifications: Proven success coaching at the collegiate level.
