I am a High School Girls Basketball coach who has lost the last 4 games due to turnovers. I have done everything I know to cure this with no luck. We are playing a tiebreaker this week for our district tourny and fear this issue will cause continued defeat. This is the first year I have coached this team 1-13 last year and we are close to making districts this year. I know there is no instant cure but even a few less could make the differance. Any advice, drills or suggestions

Thanks

Coach Martie

Martie, it sounds like you have done all the drills that typically cures a turnover issue. A second reason for turnovers is confidence. It's the end of the season you have gone from 1-13 to making district play. Congrats! I'm betting your team is playing tense, over thinking and thus not playing with confidence. Let them know how good they have done to get where they are! Boost their confidence going into this game. If you show confidence in them they will play confidently and consequently take care of the rock!
