The University of Connecticut is accepting applications and nominations for the full-time position of Assistant Director of Men’s Basketball Administration. Responsibilities include: serve as a liaison to the Counseling Program for Intercollegiate Athletes (CPIA) to promote and support the academic success of the student-athletes; provide assistance to the Athletics Compliance Staff to coordinate NCAA/compliance related documentation and serve as a liaison to the Men’s Basketball Office; assist the Director of Men’s Basketball Administration in the administration of team travel, interact with Athletics Facilities/Operations staff and other sport program staff to coordinate facility usage and practice schedules; and perform related duties as assigned by the Head Men’s Basketball Coach or the team Academic Counselor.Candidates should submit letter of application, resume, and the names of three references to: http://www.jobs.uconn.edu. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; four years of student-athlete experience working directly with a collegiate academic counseling program; strong commitment to the academic goals of the University; a demonstrated working knowledge of the correct application of NCAA regulations; and excellent organizational, communication, and public relations skills.Preferred Qualifications: Four years of student-athlete experience participating in a Division I basketball program; prior experience working as a liaison with Athletics offices/departments including Athletics Compliance and Equipment Services; and experience with professional athletes working concurrently towards a college degree.
