Position: Assistant Athletic Strategic Communications Director (Entry Level) The Assistant Athletic Strategic Communications Director directs and coordinates the flow of information to the news media by serving as the primary point of contact for Women’s Basketball, Softball, and Women’s Soccer. The Lady Techster basketball program has participated in 13 Final Fours and won three national titles during its history. The Lady Techster Softball program has participated in 11 NCAA Regionals (most recently in 2019) and has advanced to three WCWS.

Specific Duties will include: •Manage various administrative duties within the communications office and respond to requests from regional and national media outlets as well as conference and NCAA requests. •Independently write and produce press releases including game notes, recaps and features for distribution via media press releases, social media, and the department website. •Maintain the department website for statistical, biographical, and historical information for assigned programs. •Collaborate with marketing and video services staff to implement strategies to create unique promotional content for assigned programs, and as a member of the overall team, creating the strategy for the entire department. •Position does require ability to work nights and weekends.

Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree required •Skills in NCAA Genius or StatCrew software •Comfort with juggling multiple tasks •Excellent written and oral communication skills •Ability to interact effectively with student-athletes, colleagues, coaches, and supporters •Ability to work independently and as part of a team •Attention to detail •Successful background check

Compensation: Compensation is $1,500 per month ($18,000 over 12 months)
