Assistant Coach, Women’s Basketball | University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point

The Assistant Coach – Women’s Basketball will provide instruction, training and motivation to prepare student-athletes for practices, game or competitive events as well as demonstrate/instruct student athletes on sport performance principles, game strategies and safety rules. This position will assist the head coach in recruiting prospective student-athletes and monitoring student-athlete academic progress. The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach reports directly to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and indirectly to the Athletic Director. This position requires driving a state vehicle and will require applicants to have an active and current driver’s license.

Required:

Three years coaching, playing or related experience

Preferred:

·         Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university ·         Demonstrated strong commitment to athletes as students ·         Experience with photoshop/graphic design & social media platforms ·         Supporting students from diverse and multicultural backgrounds ·         Personnel Administration ·         Fundraising ·         Community Relations ·         Media Relations -Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
