Daemen College Department of Athletics seeks qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Coach of Women’s Basketball. This position will provide support and assistance to the women’s basketball program by contributing to the recruiting, coaching and administrative duties.

Job Summary:

This position will provide assistance in recruiting highly skilled prospective student athletes while initiating oral and written correspondence and evaluating prospects off-campus. Ensure program compliance and reporting relative to recruitment activities. Assist in monitoring the academics of the student-athletes in the women’s basketball program in coordination with the academic advisor. Participate in video analysis of team competition and practice. Assist in fundraising duties. Assist in ensuring program compliance with all NCAA, East Coast Conference and College rules. Assist with various coaching and training activities during games and practices. Assist with game and practice preparation and player development. Establish and implement promotional/marketing strategies to increase fan involvement and promote community support. Assist Division of Athletics Coordinator of Community Engagement in team community service projects. Opportunities will be provided to work at Daemen College summer basketball camps.

Additional administrative duties: Assist with the intramural and recreation program at Daemen College. Must have the ability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred. CPR/AED certification. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Coaching and /or participation in basketball at collegiate level preferred Ability and passion to teach and demonstrate skills of basketball. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license. Terms of Employment:

Position is full time, professional exempt and requires evening and weekend hours and travel.

The successful candidate must be able to begin the position ideally around August 2021.

This is a full-time, 10 month position. Benefits are available the first of the month following the full-time employee’s date of hire and include health, dental, vision insurance, and fully paid life insurance. In addition, we offer fully paid long term disability insurance after 3 months of employment. Eligibility for the 403b retirement plan is available to full-time employees upon hire and an 8%employer match after one year of service. Tuition waiver benefits are also available for full-time employees and their qualified dependents.

Post-Hire Trainings:

Various trainings assigned upon hire and annually thereafter by the Office of Employee Engagement.
