James Madison University is seeking an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach to work within a highly competitive program. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coaching
  • Daily instructions with the team
  • Recruiting
  • Opponent scouting
  • Player development
  • Public relations
  • Travel
  • Game scheduling
  • Admissions/financial aid
  • Community outreach
  • Compliance with NCAA, Sun Belt and JMU regulations


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience coaching at the Division 1 level
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Candidates should possess a demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically


  • Five or more years experience at the Division 1 level
  • Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the ability to recruit high level student-athletes, ability to communicate effectively and work well with students, parents, faculty, staff and the community.
