James Madison University, a Division I member of the NCAA and Colonial Athletic Association, is seeking an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach to work within a highly competitive program. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
– Daily instructions with the team
– Opponent scouting
– Player development
– Public relations
– Game scheduling
– Admissions/financial aid
– Community outreach
– Compliance with NCAA, CAA and JMU regulations
A bachelor’s degree is required. Previous coaching experience and/or previous collegiate playing experience at the Division 1 level is required. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the ability to recruit high level student-athletes, ability to communicate effectively and work well with students, parents, faculty, staff and the community. Strong administrative and organizational skills are required. Candidates should possess a demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically is essential.
