Department Description
The UC Davis Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) in partnership with the Associated Students, University of California, and Davis (ASUCD) has established a number of new full-time staff positions that will be referred to as, ICA & ASUCD Fellowships. These positions will be available to recent UC Davis graduates who aspire to work within Intercollegiate Athletics and meet the qualifications as outlined in the following job description.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the close supervision of the Assistant Athletics Director for Development and Donor Events Coordinator, provide general assistance in a number of areas, including but not limited to: Team Aggie benefit fulfillment, special event support, gift acknowledgement and tracking, and other administrative duties as assigned. This position is a vital part of the Athletics Development team and will work closely with the Donor Events Coordinator, Major Gift Officers, and Annual Fund Gift Officers to fulfill the mission of the Athletics Development Department and learn all aspects of a functioning athletics development operation. This position will also work on a daily basis with the Athletics Ticket Office, head and assistant coaches, facilities and operations staff, and other external relations areas.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Lift and move event related equipment up to 50lb.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work flexible schedule and occasional evenings/weekends. Occasional holiday work and changes in schedule on short notice, to meet operational needs.
- Attendance at all home football games and men’s basketball games is required.
- UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014. Smoking, the use of smokeless tobacco products, and the use of unregulated nicotine products (e-cigarettes) will be strictly prohibited on any UC Davis owned or leased property, indoors and outdoors, including parking lots and residential space.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Attention to detail and strong writing/editing skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Preferred
- Team oriented, organized, and a strong communicator.
- Desire to pursue career in collegiate or professional sports related field.
- Some experience working in/competing for a collegiate athletics program
- UC Davis graduate.
