Coaching – Basketball
Central Washington University is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Graduate Student to serve as an Assistant Coach for the women’s basketball team in Ellensburg, Washington. CWU is an NCAA Division II program that competes in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC). The Assistant Coach (Graduate Student) will work under the leadership of Head Coach Randi Richardson-Thornley and Assistant Coach Jessica Richardson.
The Assistant Coach (Graduate Student) will assist with all aspects of the program. Specific duties will include management of team travel, social media, academic monitoring, film upload and breakdown, recruiting assistance, fundraising assistance, camp/clinic assistance, implementation of team and individual workouts, and other duties as assigned.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and acceptance into a master’s program at Central Washington University is required. Seeking candidates with prior college playing experience at the NCAA level.

Benefits: Graduate Student (Assistant Coach) Position includes a tuition waiver and a stipend of $9,000.
Position Expectations: Job begins September 2022. Non-traditional hours, 5-6 days per week, morning, night, and weekends to be expected. Position includes physical working conditions on the basketball court and in the athletics weight room. Preferred skills include the use of Microsoft Excel, Synergy Web Editor, Adobe Photoshop, and the management of multiple Social Media platforms.
Employment is contingent upon proof of admission to Graduate School at Central Washington University and will last for approximately 2 years.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Prior college basketball playing or coaching experience.
