Under the direct supervision of the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, the Director of Basketball Operations has the responsibility of carrying out all duties assigned as they relate to the administration of the sport and to always work in the best interest of the program, the Athletic Department, and the University.

Reports to Director of Athletics, Head Coach for Men’s and Women’s Basketball.

Supervises: Graduate Assistants and Student Workers.

Est. Time Allocation: 50% Men’s Program 50% Women’s Program

Administrative 100%

Provide administrative support for basketball staff.
Responsible for all business operations for both programs to include, but not limited to: Travel, purchasing, and reimbursements.
Responsible for all camp operations for both programs.
Responsible for on campus practice scheduling.
Collaborate with visiting basketball teams to schedule practice times and assist with shoot-a-rounds.
Responsible for event planning and special projects.
Responsible for all planning and administration of on campus recruiting; both official and unofficial visits.
Perform student-athlete (roster personnel) duties.
Responsible for all community service activities.
Annually declare and receive approval from the Director of Athletics and President for all outside income.
Responsible for other work-related duties as assigned by either Head Coach or the Director of Athletics, or his/her designee.

  • Basketball experience in some capacity.
  • Possess general computer skills – required, database management software experience – preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be on your feet for much of the day.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • Requisite Education and Experience:
    Education:       Bachelor’s Degree, required. Master’s Degree, preferred.
    Professional Licensure/Certification:     None
    Experience preferred:      Organizational duties, camp participation, supervision
