Position Description and Oversight:
The Executive Senior Associate AD – Sport Administration is a key advisor to the Director of Athletics serving as a member of the AD’s executive staff, providing leadership, and facilitating the daily operation and oversight of the athletics department. 1. Coordinate Sport Administration Liaison Program 2. Coordinate matters that relate to the student-athlete experience, ensuring a transformational experience for student-athletes 3. Serve as administration liaison to facilitate and ensure communication and coordination between each sport’s Director of Operations and Sport Administration 4. Serve as the sport administrator for soccer, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, and as the Director of Athletics’ liaison for women’s basketball 5. Serve as the administrator, as described in the NCAA’s governing bylaws, and work directly with the Big 12 Conference on all legislative and policy matters impacting the institution’s athletics programs 6. Oversee all educational, monitoring, and student-athlete conduct matters related to Title IX and work directly with the University’s Office for Student Civil Rights and Sexual Misconduct 7. Responsible for Title IX and NCAA gender equity planning, strategy, and monitoring 8. Oversee and provide leadership on all diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives 9. Serve as a departmental representative on University committees to maintain and strengthen collaborative relationships and synergy with campus
1. Serve as an executive leader for the Director of Athletics in all matters related to the student-athlete experience. 2. Responsible for providing leadership in policy making, planning, and decision making as an executive staff team member. Additionally, serve as a member of the Athletics Council, Campus Compliance Committee, and other assignments as appropriate. 3. Support and contribute to a holistic approach for student-athlete welfare. 4. Serve as a leader on diversity and inclusion efforts and programming, to include providing oversight for diversity education and training, overseeing climate assessments, and supporting diversity-related recruitment/retention, programming, and evaluation efforts; and, represent Texas Tech Athletics in coordinating with the University’s Division of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion on campus-wide diversity initiatives. 5. Support an inclusive culture while building and maintaining strong, positive relationships and an organizational structure to support the department’s strategic goals and initiatives. 6. Administer assigned sport programs including supervising head coaches, monitoring budgets, developing competition schedules, approving team travel and expenses, and overseeing all operations of the sport programs. 7. Invest personal commitment, passion, and energy into all Texas Tech athletic teams, including but not limited to attending sporting events, developing relationships with the student athletes on and off the field, and being available to all constituents for counsel and mentorship. 8. Assist in coordinating department-wide strategic initiatives. 9. Comply with all NCAA, Big 12, and Texas Tech University rules, regulations, and policies, and serve as a leader in fostering a department-wide commitment to rules compliance.
