Job Description: Goucher College invites applications for a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Women’s Basketball program.

The College, a member of the Landmark Conference and currently home to 20 varsity NCAA sports, is seeking the right person to assist with the growth and success of the Women’s Basketball Program.

This person will report to the head coach and assist in leading all aspects of an NCAA Division III athletic program. Candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to interact effectively and appropriately with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, peers, community members, and administrators. Candidates must possess the skills to evaluate prospects, maintain and ensure student-athlete academic integrity, demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Goucher College and Division III and to compliance with NCAA, conference, and college rules and regulations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to coaching, recruiting, and assisting student-athletes progress successfully towards graduation.

Requirements:

For this position, we require that candidates have a bachelor’s degree, achieving a minimum of 3.0 GPA,  and playing and/or coaching experience.  Applicants below a 3.0 GPA will not be eligible.

A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required.  Travel is required as well as evening and weekend work.

This position provides a full graduate tuition scholarship in Goucher College’s Master of Education, Athletic Program Leadership and Administration, along with a stipend.

Additional Information:

Essential functions include:

  • Assist head coach with practice and game-day preparation and execution.
  • Recruitment of student-athletes.
  • Film Breakdown
  • Adherence to NCAA, conference, departmental, and college policies, procedures and expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics and/or Head Coach.
