Assistant Coach: The primary responsibility will be to assist the head coach in all facets of the program, including the recruitment of student-athletes, organization and planning of practices, game preparation, administrative duties, scouting and monitoring of student-athlete academic progress. Previous participation and/or coaching experience is preferred. Positions available: Women’s Basketball, Women’s Lacrosse and Women’s Tennis.
Game Operations and Facilities: Responsible for assisting in the areas of contest management and special events, oversight and scheduling of student workers and facilities, and event marketing and promotions.
Athletic Communications- Video Production and Digital Design: Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, producing video packages to promote the Department of Athletics and its teams. Packages will include highlights, feature stories and interview segments. Additional responsibilities include creating graphics and content for use on the department’s social media accounts, and designing and updating graphics for in-game live video broadcasts.
Athletic Communications- Sports Information: Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day and game-day operations of the Athletic Communications Office. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, writing and distributing press releases, updating the Department of Athletics website, creating graphics and content for use on the department’s social media accounts, designing and editing game programs, prepare announcer scripts, designing and updating graphics for in-game live video broadcasts, inputting and calling for statistical entry at selected events and maintaining historical records.
Business Operations and External Relations: Assist in supporting the general business needs of the Department of Athletics including but not limited to: preparing deposits, purchase orders, check requisitions and reconciling department P-Cards. Work with Associate AD in the stewardship of existing and solicitation of new partners for the corporate sponsorship program. Work and attend athletic department home contests, promotional activities and events on-campus and in the community.
Compliance and Student Athlete Services: Assist the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance & Student-Athlete Services with NCAA eligibility, recruiting, roster management, and issuing National Letters of Intent. Plan and assist with Make-a-Wish fundraising efforts and the Scholar Athlete Breakfast. Communicate effectively with coaches, student-athletes, and athletics staff.
Equipment Room:Assist the Head Equipment Manager with the day to day operations of the equipment room and provide support for all 17 varsity sports. Assist the daily maintenance of equipment including laundering, repair, replacement, and cleaning. Attend home contests to supervise the equipment and supplies as needed for competition and prepare, assign and supervise locker rooms for officials and visiting teams.
•Bachelor’s Degree required. •Must be accepted into University of New Haven Graduate Program prior to position start date. •Experience in college athletics, preferred.
