Position Overview
Butler University seeks a head coach to provide the vision and leadership for the women’s basketball program.
Primary Responsibilities:
Set the strategic direction of the program Coaching and teaching during practice and games. Teaching an overall understanding of the sport. Educating on rules and regulation of the sport, BUAD, Big East, and NCAA. Direct all practice and game planning. Game preparation: teaching strategies and tactics. Instruction on position development and fundamentals. Preparing and conducting video sessions for teaching purposes. Direct the evaluation and recruitment of academically qualified and high skilled student-athletes Direct pre and post season coaching, conditioning, and weight training. Oversee academic monitoring and personal development of student-athletes. Provide the vision and leadership to create a positive team culture. Additional Responsibilities:
Other duties as assigned: fundraising, budget management, select and manage coaching staff, alumni engagement, community service, scheduling, coaching professional development.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
- Collegiate coaching or playing experience
- Knowledge of NCAA Division 1, Big East rules and regulations
