Job Summary/Basic Function:
East Stroudsburg University’s department of Athletics currently seeks a dynamic team member to serve as Head Women’s Basketball Coach. As part of Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education, ESU offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits.
The Head Coach is responsible for administering all aspects of the women’s basketball program under his/her charge including but not limited to the development of a strong and athletically competitive Division II Women’s basketball team; effectively managing relationships with student athletes; planning; training and supervision of staff; fiscal management; practice and game supervision, scheduling, game preparation; summer camps, fund-raising, recruiting, monitoring academic and disciplinary standing of student-athletes; establishing positive relationships with support staff, players, parents, community, media and alumni; and fulfilling other duties as they arise or as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Work Hours: Nights and Weekends
Salary will be commensurate with experience. Final selection will be based upon a successful interview and background check. All candidates must furnish proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. at the time of employment.
Bachelors Degree is required. Successful experience in coaching women’s basketball as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach on the collegiate level is required or an equivalent combination and training that may include successful professional coaching experience. A thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with the rules, regulations and policies of NCAA, PSAC, and other applicable affiliations is required.
Masters Degree is preferred. Experience working with diverse populations.
