Required Qualifications

Required EducationBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Required Work ExperienceFive years of effective coaching and recruiting at the collegiate or major high school level. Must exhibit sound leadership qualities with clear and effective communication skills both orally and written. Must have experience in recruiting, player development, and roster management. Applicable experience in fundraising or budget management, preferably both.

DutiesExhibit strong leadership and professionalism in dealing with student-athletes, maintain integrity beyond reproach and foster a motiviating environment while operating a program with a high degree of discipline and accountability.
DutiesOversight of daily practice planning, game preparation, recruiting and scholarship allocation.
DutiesSupport and monitor player’s academic success and personal issues.
DutiesRepresent Ferris State women’s basketball at; conference meetings, rules education seminars, community invlolvement activities, conferences and seminars related to athletics.
DutiesRepresent Ferris State women’s basketball at various conference and conventions and attending department meetings, rules education seminars and community involvement activities.
DutiesProvide skill development and strength & conditioning for players.
DutiesCoordinate game scheduling and team travel.
DutiesManage budget, expenditures, purchasing and scholarship allocation processes.
DutiesCoordinate fundraising, camps and revenue generating initiatives designed to balance annual budget.
DutiesSchedule and engage in public relations initiatives that create revenue and positive image for the university.
DutiesMaintain positive relations with Michigan high schools, as well as other high schools in Ferris State’s recruiting footprint.
DutiesPerform other administrative duties associated with the position or assigned by the Athletic Director.

Required Skills and AbilitiesMust possess a strong desire to facilitate the academic and athletic needs of students. Strong business, fund raising, marketing and promotional skills and the ability to work with various support groups. Must have thorough knowledge of NCAA, GLIAC and University rules and excellent communications skills.
