JOB SUMMARY Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) is pleased to announce the position opening for Women’s Basketball Head Coach and invites nominations or applications.

The Women’s Basketball Head Coach is a full-time, benefitted, 12-month pay plan, exempt position. Working independently under the general direction of the Director of Athletics and in collaboration with the Department’s administration, the Women’s Basketball Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of managing and directing a NCAA Division II women’s basketball program. Competing in the Lone Star Conference (LSC), ENMU Greyhounds intercollegiate teams and specifically women’s basketball has earned conference and regional championships over the years.

ABOUT EASTERN NEW MEXICO UNIVERSITY ENMU has an enrollment of approximately 6,000 students and is located in Portales, New Mexico. ENMU is the third largest university in the state and is a member of NCAA Division II and the Lone Star Conference. ENMU sponsors 14 NCAA sport programs encompassing approximately 450 student-athletes, as well as men’s and women’s rodeo and a spirit squad.

GREYHOUND ATHLETICS ENMU competes in the expanded Lone Star Conference that stands as the largest athletic conference in NCAA Division II with 19 affiliated institutions. The Greyhounds compete in 13 intercollegiate sports in NCAA DII level and in the NIRA with the men’s and women’s rodeo teams. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Greyhounds saw unprecedented success in the last few years on and off the field. As a department, the Hounds earned two qualifications into the NCAA National Tournament over a three-season span and set program records for wins in a season in women’s soccer. The track and field program advanced to the national meet for three straight seasons and Eastern New Mexico football has finished with a record of .500 or better in conference play in Division II football’s toughest conference. The Greyhounds have also been presented the Lone Star Conference Academic Excellence Award on both the men’s and women’s side over the course of the last three years and had five different teams crowned the academic sport champions for their respective sports last season.
