Star Passing is a simple, half court passing drill that could be used for skill development in younger age groups or as a warm up drill for older, more advanced players. The concept is pretty straightforward, it basically amounts to passing and following the ball, but it keeps the players moving, thinking and requires them to always be ready. I often used this drill as a warm-up to get players focused and ready to practice. It’s also a suitable, occasional replacement for lay up drills at the beginning of practice. You can split your team into two or even three groups and use multiple baskets to run the drill and maximize shots.
