Pressure Passing Drill

Circle Passing
Players form a circle around two designated players that will start the drill on defense. We often start with all players around the mid court circle and have everyone take a step or two back.

Pressure Passing Rules

  • The defenders pressure the ball trying to get a steal.  One player mirrors the passer the other tries to pick the pass off.
  • Passers must pass to a player at least one person away.  For example, in the picture on the left 1 can not pass to 2 or 10.
  • When the defense gets a steal the person they stole it from goes on defense.

Being in the middle can get tiring which adds another aspect of pressure to the passers – they don’t want to end up in the middle.
