Like most coaches, Coach Starkey uses the shell drill to teach the basics of his defensive philosophy as well as how to defend certain movements and actions.  Using the shell he illustrates how to adjust for his opponent’s offensive tendencies and how he builds it into his scouting reports and game preparation.
